Loombloom 7'10"x11'5" Ivory Orange Pak Persian Transitional Medallion Silky Sheen Wool Hand Knotted Oriental Area Rug

$799.99 $2,399.97
A stately central medallion organises the composition in the tradition of fine Persian weaving, giving this hand-knotted transitional rug a breathtaking centre statement that draws the eye immediately. A creamy ivory canvas carries sweeping orange floral tracery within an intricate ornamental border, a bright, warm palette that lifts rooms working in neutral or cooler tones. Hand tied knot by knot from high-grade wool, the rug reveals a lush surface with luminous silky sheen and a velvety finish suited to living rooms, dining areas, and formal spaces. Minor variations in colour and pile direction occur naturally in hand-woven work, adding dimension and confirming the piece was made by hand rather than by machine. Its medallion layout rewards rooms where the centre of the rug stays visible rather than covered by a large table.

Story Behind the Art: Hand-knotted rugs are Pakistan's second-largest cottage and small industry that began as early as the 11th century under the Mughal rule. The craftsmen have the capacity to produce any type of rug using all the popular motifs of guls, medallions, paisleys (botehs), traceries, and geometric designs in various combinations .But the Pak Persian rugs are a quality best defined by their 16 by 18 KPSI count yielding over 288 KPSI or the common 300 KPSI quality which makes them exceptionally dense and enduring for high traffic area. Initially produced to address the vacuum when the US stopped trading with Iran in the 1970s, these rugs have persisted and are quite popular due to their superior weaving and array of design choices.
