Story Behind the Art:Kazak rugs are renowned for their bold visual impact, exceptional durability, and richly saturated natural dyes. Originally woven by tribal communities across the Caucasus Mountains between the Black and Caspian Seas, Kazak rugs feature strong geometric compositions and expressive tribal motifs. Common elements include medallions, rosettes, hooked polygons, diamonds, crosses, and symbolic representations of animals, birds, trees, and humans. Today, rugs woven in Azerbaijan and Iran near the Caucasus are referred to as Caucasian Kazaks, while those produced in Afghanistan are known as Afghan Kazaks, with Pakistan emerging as a major modern production center.
