$399.99 $1,199.97
Expertly crafted at an impressive 250 knots per square inch, this hand knotted Kazak wool rug delivers both technical excellence and bold geometric design—highly valued in the luxury rug market across the United States. The deep sage green field is anchored by a vertical series of star medallions in gold and ivory, each filled with intricate geometric elements that reveal increasing detail upon closer inspection. Surrounding tribal motifs maintain balance across the open field, while the wide ivory border features stepped patterns and zigzag elements in rust and green. Additional stylized tree motifs along the lower border add a narrative touch. With its silky wool finish and high knot density, this rug is ideal for collectors and homeowners seeking a premium handmade statement rug.

Story Behind the Art: Kazak rugs are well-recognized for their striking aesthetic, durability and highly saturated naturally dyed color tone. Originally woven by different tribes in the region of Caucasus Mountains, between the Black Sea and Caspian Sea, Kazak rugs feature distinct design patterns/motifs with geometric composition and tribal characteristics. Common patterns include medallions, rosettes, hooked polygons, diamonds and crosses as well as representations of animals, birds, trees and humans. Today Kazak rugs that are made in Azerbaijan or in Iran or near the Caucasus Mountains are referred to as Caucasian Kazaks, and Kazak style rugs that are made in Afghanistan are referred to as Afghan Kazaks. Pakistan has also emerged as an important center for production of Kazaks in the modern times.
