LoomBloom 4'9''x10'10'' Rust Charcoal Bakshaish Traditional Geometric Village Vintage Vegetable Dyes Wool Hand Knotted Oriental Area Rug

$1,799.99 $5,399.97
Hand knotted in the Bakshaish weaving tradition of northwestern Iran, this vintage wool carpet features a bold tribal composition defined by three large rust-red diamond medallions arranged across a dramatic charcoal and aubergine field. Each medallion is outlined in gold and detailed with stylized botanical elements, while scattered geometric motifs in rose, sage, and gold fill the surrounding space with the spontaneous charm characteristic of village weaving. A gold and ivory floral border frames the design, adding warmth and structure to the composition. Preserved in mint condition with no restoration required, this vintage Persian area rug showcases beautifully aged vegetable dyes that bring richness and consistency to the charcoal, rust, and gold palette. Its striking geometric pattern and authentic craftsmanship make it an ideal statement piece for traditional, eclectic, and modern interiors alike.

Bakshaish rugs are woven in the village of Bakshaish within the Heriz region of northwestern Iran and are considered some of the most artistically expressive rugs in the Persian tradition. Created by tribal and semi-nomadic weavers since the nineteenth century, these rugs are known for their large-scale medallions, spacious compositions, and softly rendered curvilinear motifs. Their slightly irregular drawing style reflects the individuality of village weaving and contributes to their distinctive charm. Naturally dyed wool often produces subtle variations in tone, known as abrash, adding depth and movement across the field. Characterized by earthy palettes and strong artistic presence, Bakshaish rugs combine rustic authenticity with timeless decorative appeal.
